snakeskin

Mixed media

This project explores the wardrobe as metaphor for our self(s). Our identity is composed of that which is inside (thoughts, beliefs, feelings) as well as that which is outside (hair, skin, body/shape). Our clothes, like snakeskin, are equal part body and accessory, expressions of our immutable innermost identity, and able to be shed at a moment's notice.

In SNAKESKIN, I explore the boundaries of the body through the use of textiles and clothes that take on bodily forms.
